| Why does my ti-89 titanium tell me that the limit of the square root of x as x approaches zero is zero, when the general limit doesn't exist? It's a one-sided limit. |

Because the TI-89 titanium thinks that the limit of the square root of x as x approaches zero from the negative side does also exist and is 0. So the TI-89 thinks both one-sided limits exist, thus the original limit exists and equals 0. As to why, who knows.
