Hello!
I' ve just spent many hours trying to upload some graphs I made in excel and saved as bitmap and jpeg. I have found out that I can put these into the Study Cards, but the images are of so low guality it isnt even worth it.
These are illustrative graphs, so I cant draw them myself in Cabri Geom.
Help please! |

| I'm not sure what you want help with exactly. Do you want help uploading graphs into the study card program on your calculator? |

I need to find a way to upload my graphs (about 30..of them saved as pictures) from the pc to the TI 89. Where they go in the calculator is really not important, as long as I have access to them.
I am facing a really difficult exam, and I am allowed to bring the TI. But no books.. so I am feeding all the difficult things into the TI. And so far I have had no luck with the graphs. I have tried pasting from paint into StudyCards, but the result is hopeless to see. I have also tried to use Hannas iview, but the connection does not work properly.
I would be grateful for any help.

I was just wondering if you were ever able to down load those graphs. I use the NoteFolio program quite a bit and I tried very, very hard to create graphs from my PC's keyboard but it really was not worth the effort. I really would like to create simple line work charts that I can use.

Hello!
Yes, I finally managed to find something that worked. First you have to install preos on the calc. You find the file in 2nd Var-link, press F4 (I think..) to mark it, then F1 and 8 to archive. Go to home, fetch the file from 2nd Var-link and press enter. Preos is installed...
Then I found that wordrider was a very good program to load pictures and text at once. The files have to be posted only one tree from c; but the rest is really easy. If you go to wordrider.net, you learn all about it.
Highly recommended! |

I looked under the 2nd Var-Link and I can not find "Preos" on my TI-89 Titanium. Is the program something I need to down load from Texas Instruments? My TI is only a month old and I have the disc that came with it.
Once I have Preos on my calc. then what? I have not looked at the Wordrider yet, but will it enable me to make simple charts or schematics? I want to draw simple shapes for classes like Statics and Dynamics and draw charts for help in other classes.
I have seen on Note Folio a place to up load from my TI to my PC a screen print of graphs, but the graphs I want would have to be drawn by hand to be of any use.
Also, there is alot of stuff on my TI that I don't think I will ever use. The Study Cards are a great idea, but so far there is nothing on them that I have seen that I will want. They just seem in the way. Should I erase them? If I do can I down-load them from TI later?
One more question. In my Note Folio program that installed on my TI I can only fit 25 pieces of text accross the screen. I can see the text just fine, so is there any way to make the text just a bit smaller so I can fit more pieces of text on the screen? This mean less scrolling down to find various notes, formulas and information needed when I need it. |
