|
|
I can't figure out how to make my Ti-89 Titanium sove a combined inequality. I can't find it anywhere in the Pdf manual.
Example 5x-2?2x<3
I tried solving it like a regular inequality "solve(5x-2>2x, x)" which equals "x?2/3", but when I try "solve(5x-2?2x<3, x)" it says "Missing )"
REVISION: I just previewd this post and found that the the > or equal to symbol has been replaced with a question mark. I gues the forum doesn't support those symbols. Pretend it says >or equal to instead of the ? marks.
If anyone know how to solve this I would appreciate it.
Thanks,

Thanks for replying so quickly, but that isn't what I meant. That is way past my limited knowledge of math at this point. I am in chapter 2 of my highschool algebra 2 book. My question is about combined inequalites. If you go to http://www.gomath.com/htdocs/lesson/inequality_lesson1.htm it explains combined inequalities on the lower part of the page. It's realy simple, I just don't know how to make the calculator simplify it.
If it helps, another example problem would be "-1>2r-5>-9". I need it to simplify. The answer for the aforementioned example should be "r: -2<r<2", according to the answers in the back of the book (Algebra and Trigonometry, Structure and Method, Book 2).
If I could just get it to simplify the problem for me I would be happy, but if anyone knows how to make it graph it I would like to know how. _________________ "Expect my questions to be basic and stupid, I'm only in high school algebra 2 and I am bad at math " |

| Oh...I'm sorry...I completely misunderstood. I'm not sure how to do that on the calculator either - just always did it in hand. Hopefully someone knows, I'd be interested in knowing as well. |
