Hey there,
I'm lookin to purchase either a TI-89 or TI-89 Platinum for college. Being a poor starving student I'd prefer not to pay the extra for the Platinum! Are all the menu's and operations of the two calculators the same? I have TI-83 at the mo and everyone else in the class has the TI-89 Platinum and so its a pain havin to work how to do everythin a different way on the TI-83 as nothing is the same! Any advice or help would be great, cheers

first of all, i think you mean Titanium.
now it's pretty hard to buy a regular 89 since it's old, and in most stores, the price isn't much cheaper than titanium.
the function and operation is exactly the same, but titanium has about 3x the memory and a faster processer. another advantage is that you don't have to buy the cable separately. there is a portion of asm games and programs only work on the regular 89 but not titanium. |

Cheers did mean Titanium, soz - my bad.
Managed 2 track a couple of 2nd hand 89's down on ebay but couldn't find any titaniums hence the reason am askin!
Won't be using it for anythin other than the basics so I'm not too bothered bout processor speed or memory.
Cheers for the quick reply, u've saved me a few beer tokens! |
