Help! I have a huge calculus exam tomorrow and my ti-89 is messed up. Each time I try to do an integral, it says: Non-algebraic variable in expression. What have I done and how do I fix it?

did you try clearing a-z?
try pressing [AND]+[F1]+[1]
Other than that you'll probably have to reset your calculator. link |

This is because the variable you are integrating with respect to (for example "x") has a real value (if you ask what "x" is it will return a value rather than "x"). You need to delete the variable you are using.
You can delete (clear) any variable by pressing the keys:
[2nd], [- (VAR-LINK)], arrow to the variable, [<- (DEL)], [ENTER]
Good luck,
