I have a TI-89 calculator that I've just started to work with in my AP calculus Class. But truth is there is this girl that I'm trying to woo, and i found this equation through google.com (x^2+(1.5)^2*y^2+z^2-1)^3-x^2*z^3-(1.5)^2/20*y^2*z^3=0
But i cannot get it to work on my calculator. I would love to be able to make this graph and show it to the object of my affection but i don't how to make it work. Now i do have it in 3d graph mode and it types out fine, When i try and graph it tough it gives the undefined variable message. I enter it into the z1= slot in the plot tab. If anyone could help me out i would much appreciate it. Thanks! I enter it into the z1= slot in the plot tab. |

| you're getting that error because you have z in your equation. You can only have x and y. you could try solving it for z. |

You could use the solve() function to solve for z. |

i tried that, and it told me that first part must be an equation or inequality.
i typed the equation with solve( in front of it, and closed the parentheses, anyone know how to do it? |

right before the closing ")" you have to put a ",z"
that tells it to solve for z
oh and i wouldn't try to solve that for z on your calc, i let mine run for about 15 min and it was still going, no idea how long it would take, maybe someone could do it on their computer instead |
