can anyone tell me how to graph a linear equation with negative slope. If I enter a negative anywhere in the slope intercept it comes up with an error syntax window. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

My guess is that you're using a subtraction sign in place of a negative sign. Doing so will generate a syntax error. Note that the "-" key for subtraction is immediately above the "+" key for addition. In contrast, the key for negation, labeled "(-)", is immediately right of the decimal point key, labeled ".".

Enter the following key sequence to graph the linear equation y = -x + 4:

1. Green key with a black diamond.
2. F1
3. (-)
4. x
5. +
6. 4
7. ENTER
8. Green key with a black diamond.
9. F3

You should see the graph of the line. If not, you may need to adjust your window settings (which may be accessed by pushing the green-diamond key and then "F2").

Wink
