I'm trying to solve the following problem:

(3x-1) (4x+5)
----------------- <= 0
(x+7)(1-2x)

Iv tried entering that in the TI89 Titanium followed by a comma and an "x" then a parenthesis to close and keep getting either a syntax or missing parenthesis error. Any help please.

Hi SWANSON,

Try entering it like this:

Code:

solve( a / b <= 0, x) | a = (3x-1)(4x+5) and b = (x+7)(1-2x)

Sometimes breaking up the problem into pieces or storing it in variables can help simplify the expression.

Hope this helps!
