I have an Electrical engineering exam tomorrow and I'm realizing how annoying it is to do all the conversions through the simple formula app. I know theres a way to go from polar notation to rectangular notation already built into the TI-89 but I can't get it to work and my manual is useless for that. I've heard there is a quick program that allows you tgo just plug in your math in say polar notation and get the answer in rectangular coordinates or vice versa. Basically I need to save myself time and accuracy because I can't always carry that many sig. figs in my manual conversions.
Ideas/Answers PLEASE!!!! |

| If you want to convert from rectangular to polar just enter the rectangular figures then press CATALOG and go down to where it shows the arrow and says Polar. Same goes for polar to rectangular. Example: 1+2i>Polar gives you the answer 2.24<63.43 I use the > for the arrow that appears to the left of the word Polar under the catalog, and the < sign to denote the angle sign on the calculator(which you can get by pressing 2nd+EE). The same goes from going from polar to rectangular. Example: (10<45)>Rect gives you the answer 7.07+7.07i in rectangular form. Make sure that you use parenthesis when going from polar to rectangular or it will give you a syntax error. |
