Ok...
so for my calculator, i only have 130k of ram. Isnt it supposed to be 188k?
is it because of an app i have?
my friend said you have to clear all of the undo data on sketchpad, but i never even had a file open on sketchpad
i reset my ram, deleted all my variables, cleared home, and still only have 130k memory
whats going on? |

Hi ishtuhdn,
Welcome to TI-89 Forums!
There is a certain amount of RAM that the OS uses for its own purposes, which can vary depending on your OS and various apps or programs installed. However, if you have already reset your RAM, then you shouldn't have anything to lose, so you can try taking out all the batteries, waiting a few seconds, and then putting them back in to totally reset the RAM. The calculator's "Reset RAM" function only resets the RAM that it understands was allocated. Sometimes, if a program (especially ASM) has a memory leak, there was allocated RAM somewhere that nothing owns, no program, not the OS, or anything else. It's just RAM that is unavailable. This RAM cannot be returned to the OS by using "Reset RAM" from the "MEM" menu, but taking out the batteries will fix this problem.
Hope this helps!
